In Russia, a false rumour is circulating about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy supposedly purchasing a villa on the Island of the Billionaires. This is not true, according to the Centre for Countering Disinformation (CCD).
CCD identified that news about the alleged purchase of a "villa with an underground bunker" by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for 17 million euros, supposedly situated on the "Island of Billionaires" Saint Barthélemy, is simply a fabrication created by Russian propagandists.
"It is asserted that the villa was allegedly bought by the Cypriot company Aldorante LTD, although there is presently no evidence or substantiation for this claim," the CCD reported.

They stress that the circulated "news" does not include any formal records or original sources.
Island of Billionaires Saint Barts
Saint Barthélemy, also known as the Island of the Billionaires, is a French overseas territory that comprises the island of Saint Barthélemy and a number of nearby islands in the Caribbean Sea. It was established on 22 February 2007. Previously, it belonged to the overseas department of Guadeloupe. Its administrative hub is Gustavia.
The island was first discovered in 1493 by Christopher Columbus, who christened it in honour of his brother Bartholomew.

Fakes about Zelenskyy
Similar fake stories about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have been spread by Russian propaganda previously.
For example, in August, Russians disseminated information that the US government supposedly planned to replace the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following the operation in the Kursk region.
As stated by the CCD, the primary objective of such allegations is to undermine the Ukrainian president.
