After they had delayed a flight to allow her to see her mother before her mother passed away.
For what they did for her, I wish I knew the names of those who helped me, but the story's too lovely not to be told.
At the time, her mother, Kathleen Nelson, was in hospital suffering from "undiagnosed pneumonia" and was recovering well after her operation. However, White said she got a call from her brother telling her that her mother's body had gone into septic shock. She was told that "we need to visit her straight away" because the doctors were unsure "what was going on or how long it would last."
White's flight from Dallas in Texas necessitated a stopover in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but due to "mechanical issues" her plane was grounded at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport for over an hour, making it likely she might miss her connecting flight and raising concerns about being able to see her mother before she died.
She then described her situation to one of the flight attendants, who informed her she wouldn't be able to catch her flight in Minneapolis, and moved her to a new flight the following day.

However, the pilot of the initial flight rang the pilot of White's connecting flight, who agreed to hold the aircraft until she could arrive.
The flight crew upgraded White's seat to allow her to board the plane more quickly and made a public announcement to ensure she was first off the aircraft. The man sitting beside her in first class produced a map of the Minneapolis airport to help her locate the gate for her connecting flight.
Following the 30-minute wait, White was able to board the Minneapolis flight and reach her destination on schedule.
My mum passed away the next day. Delta's kindness gave me 24 extra hours with her. I was able to say 'I love you' one last time and provide comfort for her in her final moments, that she had provided for me my whole life," she wrote on her TikTok, saying the airline gave her "the gift of time.
Since the video first appeared, it has garnered in excess of 10 million views, with many folk venturing to the comments section to lavish praise on the kindness shown to her that day.
"I've just seen the man making the map of the airport for you, all the people out of their way so you can have 24 hours to get back and forth makes me believe in humanity," the comment read.
Another commenter concurred, writing, “I'm well aware that everyone is thanking the crew, but I couldn't help but think of that first flight attendant you spoke to. It's possible some people might not even have asked if not for their initiative, I'm just very glad they listened and the rest followed suit.”
