Musical films Wicked and A Complete Unknown, and TV shows Shōgun and The Bear have topped the list of Screen Actors Guild nominations, according to announcements made this morning.

The big budget show "Wicked" is at the top of the film list with a total of five nominations, including the talented Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey, as well as the entire cast having been put forward for consideration. Membership of the stunt team is also in the running for an award. Produced from the long-running production on Broadway, "Wicked" has made a total of over £680m at the worldwide box office.

The biopic of Bob Dylan, A Complete Unknown, received four nominations, for actors Timothée Chalamet, Edward Norton and Monica Barbaro, as well as the cast overall.

The ensemble award, considered the main attraction of the evening, will see the two films compete against Anora, Conclave and Emilia Perez.

In the best actress category, Erivo will be up against Pamela Anderson from The Last Showgirl, Mikey Madison from Anora, Demi Moore from The Substance, and Karla Sofia Gascon, whose film is Emilia Pérez. The category notably omits Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.

In the best actor category, Chalamet takes on competition from Craig in "The B***" for Daniel, Fiennes in "Conclave", Domingo in "Sing Sing", and Brody in "The Brutalist". Sebastian Stan misses out on both "The Apprentice" and "A Different Man".

For supporting actress, Grande and Barbaro are nominated alongside Danielle Deadwyler from The Piano Lesson, Jamie Lee Curtis from The Last Showgirl and Zoe Saldana from Emilia Pérez. Notable absentees in this category include Isabella Rossellini, Selena Gomez and Felicity Jones.

For the supporting actor award, Norton and Bailey are up against a strong favourite in Kieran Culkin, joined by Anorak's Yura Borisov and Jeremy Strong from The Apprentice. However, this year's nominees surprisingly do not include Denzel Washington, who was involved in Gladiator II, or Guy Pearce, known for his role in The Courier.

The TV categories were topped by the acclaimed historical epic Shôgun, which received five nominations, followed by The Bear, with four, and The Diplomat, with three.

The drama ensemble category will see Shôgun and The Diplomat competing against Slow Horses, Bridgerton and the first season of The Day of the Jackal. The comedy ensemble will feature The Bear competing with Hacks, Abbott Elementary, Only Murders in the Building and Shrinking.

The lead actor in a drama series category is headed by Hiroyuki Sanada, who is favourite to win, having already received an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role, alongside his co-star Tadanobu Asano, alongside other nominees such as Gary Oldman from Slow Horses, Eddie Redmayne from The Day of the Jackal, and Jeff Bridges from The Old Man.

The lead actress in a drama category is headed by another Shôgun favourite, Anna Sawai, a winner of both an Emmy and a Golden Globe, who will compete with The Diplomat's Keri Russell and Allison Janney, Matlock's Kathy Bates and Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan.

Bates has also been shortlisted in the lead actress in a TV movie or limited series category for The Great Lillian Hall, where she will be competing with Cate Blanchett for Disclaimer, Jodie Foster for True Detective: Night Country, Lily Gladstone for Under the Bridge, Cristin Milioti for The Penguin and Jessica Gunning for Baby Reindeer.

Gunning's co-star Richard Gadd takes the lead as top-billed actor in a TV movie or limited series lineup alongside Disclaimer's Kevin Kline, Ripley's Andrew Scott, The Penguin's Colin Farrell and Monsters' Javier Bardem.

The lead actress category in a comedy series is led by two stars of The Bear - Ayo Edebiri and Lisa Colón-Zayas - who are up against Hacks favourite Jean Smart, Abbott Elementary's Quinta Brunson and Kristen Bell for first season anchor Nobody Wants This on Netflix.

Bell's co-star, Adam Brody, heads the guys' lineup, alongside Ted Danson from A Man on the Inside, Harrison Ford from Shrinking, Jeremy Allen White from The Bear, and the winner - not his co-star Steve Martin - Martin Short, from Only Murders in the Building.

The ceremony will be held on 23 February, hosted by, and featuring presenter, Kristen Bell.

Results of a press release announcing that over 30,000 individuals are currently under an evacuation order and that several film and TV premieres are being cancelled in Hollywood.

Awards were received by individuals including Demi Moore, Adrien Brody, Jean Smart, Kieran Culkin and Colin Farrell among the winners.

Last year's awards were dominated by notable successes for films such as 'Oppenheimer', 'Succession' and 'The Bear'. This year's Academy Awards nominations will be announced on 17 January.
